Wool carpet

Wool is the fibre we reach for when a carpet has to last and feel like something. It springs back under furniture, resists crushing on a stair, takes dye beautifully and is naturally flame- and stain-resistant before any treatment. It costs more than nylon, and on a staircase or a main room it is usually worth it — we will tell you honestly where it is and where it is not.
